COVID-19 Update
The ROCK Society is very aware of the concerns with the potential spread of the coronavirus, and our team and leadership are closely monitoring the situation on a daily basis. We are dedicated to providing regular updates to our members and attendees.

Dear ROCK Society Members and Annual Meeting Attendees,

As you know, in light of the COVID-19 pandemic, we decided to transform the April 24-25 ROCK meeting in Birmingham, AL to a “virtual” meeting to be held on Saturday, April 25.

After further consideration, we now have news to report:
  • First the good news – The AV company assures us that the virtual meeting will be an exceptional experience. The plan is for them to provide onsite support to President Dean Assimos to run the meeting from Birmingham. Moreover, we believe the cost of AV services will be fully covered from meeting registrations and funds from industry, the latter of which were negotiated by PRRI. A BIG thank you goes out to Lorraine and Brittany for their outstanding efforts in this regard.

  • Here’s the bad news – Given continued spikes in COVID-19 cases and anticipated surges that have not yet hit many of our geographic areas, we no longer believe April 25 is the best day for the 2020 ROCK Society meeting. Instead, we plan to reschedule it – most likely as a one-day virtual meeting – for later in the year, date to be determined.
There are many fantastic clinical and scientific presentations scheduled for the 2020 ROCK Society meeting! We look forward to piloting a virtual meeting later in the year when the maximum number of ROCK Society members will be able to participate and when we will all be ready for a well-deserved diversion from clinical and surgical crisis management. Plans for the annual business meeting are still being worked out. In the meantime, continue working on your presentations and stay tuned for further updates.
